About

Professional Training and Education:

I am a licensed clinical psychologist and have practiced group and individual psychotherapy in Austin, Texas for more than 25 years. In 1965 I earned a B.A. in English Literature from Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. I received my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1991. My degree program included a year-long internship in clinical psychology at the UT Health Science Center in San Antonio.

I continue to sharpen my skills through regular consultation with peers and participation in a modern analytic training group. In addition my work as a consultant to other mental health professionals keeps me alert to ongoing issues in the field.

Life Experience:

A full life holds many journeys. We put down roots to steady ourselves, but we must also reach out for new experiences in order to keep growing. My experiences as a teacher, a teacher-trainer, a technical writer, a wife, a mother, a grandmother and an enduring friend have enriched my life and bring depth to the work I do with my clients. Having navigated many transitions in my own life, I can help you identify the places where you are stuck and provide support as you prepare for your next journey.
